"Exploring Lake Tahoe: Inside the Stunning Lakeside Mansion where Vanderpump Rules Season 11 Cast Trip is Filmed"

Updated: Mar 20

This friend group has come a long way since working at Sur in West Hollywood! So far this season has been a little slow moving, but it is to be expected after last year’s explosive Scandoval storyline. I mixed reviews so far yet it looks like things are about to heat up in Lake Tahoe.

Ever wonder "where is Vanderpump Rules filmed?" This is the cast’s second trip to Northern California - Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney’s wedding was at Twenty Mile House, a secluded forest wedding venue two and a half hours north. That trip was much happier, although we found out years later that they did not actually get legally married at their wedding. Instead they officially tied the knot in Las Vegas. Clearly that was a mistake, they could have saved themselves the legal troubles during their divorce.

This time the cast is grappling with the fallout of Scandoval - the months long affair with Tom Sandoval and Rachel "Raquel" Leviss. Will he be humble and accept his responsibility for hurting everyone around him? Probably not. But it’s certain he will fake cry.

Whatever your opinions of this season are, it’s definite that we all love watching this crazy, messed up bunch of friends. If you want to party like the “Vandersluts” then check out this 3-day weekend itinerary for South Lake Tahoe.

DAY 1: Hang Out at the Lake House

The first trip of Vanderpump Rules Season 11 is to visit the site of Lisa Vanderpump’s new restaurant Wolf which is in Harrah's in South Lake Tahoe. This is at the California and Nevada, the casinos are on the Nevada side and the ski resorts, such Heavenly and Palisades, are on the California side. There is a lot to do in Lake Tahoe from skiing, boating, hiking, gambling, and appreciating nature at its finest.

The Vanderpump Rules cast has made some decent money so their travel digs have greatly improved. No more staying at the Golden Nugget.

While in Lake Tahoe the cast stayed at a stunning six bedroom, five bathroom lakefront house. This retreat is absolutely filled with windows showcasing beautiful views year round. As you first enter the home you are greeted with a two-story view of the lake. The chef’s kitchen is massive and perfect for quiet dinners at home… or flip cup tournaments, your choice. Each of the bedrooms are large and beautiful so you won’t have to fight “Real Housewives style” to get the best room. The home is filled with entertainment options including foosball, a pool table, and a hot tub. If you visit during the summer, swimming in the lake is a must. Jump off the dock, lay on the rocks, and soak up the sun. Relax at home for dinner and take advantage of this beautiful home.

This home is available on VRBO for an average nightly rate of $2,350. The house sleeps up to 10 which makes this a great economical option for large groups who want to be on the lake. The house is also pet friendly, as we saw James reunite with his dog, now named Hippie. Your furry best friend will have any amazing time frolicking in the lake. This house is on the Nevada side so you are a close drive to the casinos, restaurants, and bars.

DAY 2: HEAVENLY SKI RESORT

Person skiing in Lake Tahoe
Mountain views with a Lake backdrop

While Heavenly is best known as a Ski Resort, summers are a great time to take a gondola up to the top and get amazing views of Lake Tahoe. Check out the restaurant on top of the mountain. Face your fear of heights and check out the Red Tail and Hot Shot ziplines, or enjoy tubing down the mountain. If you visit during winter make sure to bring your skis or snowboard. If you’re not into winter sports, try tubing or enjoy a picturesque gondola ride to the top for some hot chocolate.

Girl skiing at Squaw Valley
Every day on the slopes is a good day!

After a heavenly day on the mountain, head home to freshen up. Take a ten minute drive into town to check out Friday’s Station at Harrah's, where the Vanderpump cast had dinner with Lisa. Perched on the top floor of Harrah's Lake Tahoe, this upscale steak and seafood restaurant provides stunning lake views that accompany their highly rated food. If you love steak share the 24 ounce cowboy steak dry aged for 35 days with artichoke chips and buttery duck fat potato confit. Try the Seafood Broil if you prefer seafood over steak.

Afterwards, check out South Shore Room for live music. You can find all sorts of music such as jam bands like Umphree's Mcgee, 90's rock like The Wallflowers, and comedy acts like Craig Fergusen. On your way out, throw a couple bets down on the black jack table. Always avoid the roulette table, it has the worst odds. In fact, casinos usually design the casino floor to have the roulette table closest to the cashier order to try to entice you to lose some of your winnings before cashing out.

DAY THREE: ON THE WATER

Emerald Bay in Lake Tahoe
Jump in the clear emerald waters

What’s the point of going to Lake Tahoe if you’re not getting on the lake? Tahoe is well known for the clear emerald waters that reflect the tall pine trees surrounding it. Experience the beauty of Tahoe from your private yacht for the day.

You will want to wake up early (pending your hangover) so you can enjoy as much of your last day as possible. Grab some picnic items and adult beverages from a grocery store before heading to the Tahoe Keys Marina to meet the captain for your lake voyage. Breath in the fresh air while you enjoy the surrounding mountain views and the calm clear water. This is what life is about!

Boat Tahoe is located in the Tahoe Keys Marina in South Lake Tahoe, CA which is about a 20 minute drive from the lake house. Choose your private boat based on your budget (tours range from $499 for two hours to $1199 for four hours). They have options for many different boats and watersports such as tubing, wakeboarding, and water skiing. Tour Lake Tahoe on a private boat with up to 10 guests. Click here to schedule your tour.

What's great about Boat Tahoe is they will take you on a custom tour based on what you want to see. Emerald Bay is a must-see on your charter. This stunning location is renowned for its turquoise waters and rocky shoreline. This is where your camera will capture stunning selfies of you in front of Eagle Falls and the historic Tea House on Fannette Island.

We also recommend Vikingsholm which makes you feel like you are in Norway. Pinned against the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada mountains you will find the one hundred year old, 38 room Scandinavian-style mansion. This home is on the National Registry of Historic Homes and provides a glimpse into the history of Tahoe's richest families. Imagine living inside this mansion with the relaxing views of the pristine lake.

In addition to these key locations, Boat Tahoe charters can be tailored to your preferences. Their experienced captains also know all the hidden spots you may not know about. Other points of interest on the lake include Rubicon Bay, Meeks Bay, or Sugar Pine Point State Park. If you want a real beach experience check out Sand Harbor and relax on its white sandy beaches and play in the crystal-clear water. For the adventurous, you can check out Thunderbird Lodge, Bonsai Rock, Whale Beach, Skunk Harbor, Chimney Beach, and Cave Rock.

After your cruise, check out the Boathouse on the Pier, a relaxing restaurant with more great views and pub fare to finish off your Tahoe vacation. The baked brie is a warm, gooey treat with apples and pears to dip, a perfect mix of naughty and healthy. Afterwards, head back to your lakeside mansion to unwind from a day on the water and laugh with your friends about all the funny things that happened on your Lake Tahoe trip.
